A successful Veganuary
We've come to the end of January and with it, Veganuary. Nearly 600,000 people signed up this year, pledging to avoid animal products for the entire month.
To celebrate the movement, we started a sanctuary Facebook series which took a look at some inspirational vegan people, films and documentaries. We gave a shout out to our favourite vegan brands and even snuck in some tasty snacks and recipes!
Another Veganuary project was our series of Facebook livestreams. Throughout the month, we have been going live every Saturday at 10:30am and would like to thank everyone who tuned in and joined us. We hope that you enjoyed meeting the animals, hearing some of their stories, and watching them enjoy some cuddles!
We enjoyed filming the Lives so much that they'll be continuing throughout February! For those of you who missed us last month, here's a little recap of what we've been up to...
We began on the 2nd with an introduction to the goats. They munched peacefully on an enormous pile of hay and Ambrose cosied up to Katherine.
On the 9th we met the chickens! The Ginger Ninjas and Cornish Chooks are being kept in enclosed runs due to an outbreak of avian flu. The Live showed a glimpse of how they're coping during Flockdown and what we've been doing to keep them entertained. In the clip above, the chooks enjoy an egg while showing off their sparkling CD collection and colourful tunnel.
On the 23rd, it was the turn of the sheep! Prince and Friendly tried their hardest at a sheep agility and we met baby Luna, our newest addition the herd.
The last January Live was with our gorgeous pigs. Florence, Freddie, Stompy and Inca enjoyed some belly scratches and rolled around their new treat balls.
Join us on Saturdays at 10:30am to see more of our residents' antics! We'd love to answer any questions and hope that you enjoy spending some time with the animals.
There's still time to enter the competition to name our ten Cornish Chooks. You can enter on our website and we'll be drawing the winners in our next Live on Saturday 6th!
