Healing a horse - Jason's Story

Everybody told Jason's last owner to put him down after he threw her from his back. Thankfully, she brought him to us instead.

As a horse that she couldn't ride, Jason served no purpose for her but, of course, there was a reason for his unsociable behaviour. By the time he was eight years old, our beautiful boy had been through four different homes and was understandably agitated.

When Jason arrived, he was stressed, flighty and constantly upset. He absolutely hated the pigs and was always on his guard, sniffing the air, snorting at them, kicking his heels, and galloping away. We weren't sure that he'd ever really get used to them.

But, over time, as Jason settled and gained his field-mate Chancer, he began to trust that his forever home is here with us. Now he approaches the pigs in a much calmer manner and is even becoming friends with Freddie! It's such a joy to see the two of them getting on and - as you can see in this photo of Freddie peering up at Jason - they have put their fears aside and are firm friends.

To sponsor Jason, Freddie or any of our other beautiful rescues, check out our paypal, the sanctuary shop, or drop us an email at peartreefarmanimalsanctuary@hotmail.com to choose your new friend. We'd love to hear from you!
